We headed out with a small group on our first APB-led trip of the season just minutes after I posted last week. And what an adventure it was! 12 students, 2 instructors, 1 broken down vehicle, and 3 Dominoes pizza pies got us to a place where we could hang out, hike, swim, eat around a fire, and see some of these awesome views:
We kicked off the week with our first ever Sunday Assembly, which is to become a weekly tradition. We also got more involved with student-led workshops -- students shared some pretty cool skills with the community. We did a little improv, a little computer programming, some ultimate frisbee (this afternoon begins our round-robin campwide tournament), and even got a peek into the croissant-making process (and the croissant-eating process!). We're looking forward to workshops on self-defense, cheerleading, and sewing coming up real soon, too.
Yesterday also marked the first day for our October cohort -- eleven students are arriving from around the country today. They'll exist in their own COVID bubble for the next 10 days, but will be able to start hanging out at a distance with our existing students, and we couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to share more about them next week!
